Lodging
The 2008 Beam Instrumentation Workshop will be held at Granlibakken Conference Center and Lodge at beautiful Lake Tahoe, California. The hotel has guaranteed a block of 135 rooms for the workshop; the reservation deadline is Monday, April 14, 2008.
Granlibakken will directly bill the attendees based on the actual daily CONUS (CONtinental US official allowance) conference rate for lodging and the full daily CONUS rate for meals plus a 20% tax and service fee. The current CONUS rates are $101.00 and $59.00 for the lodging and meals respectively; please note that they could be slightly different at the time of the workshop. The lodging fee includes all meals; accompanying persons will be charged $50.00/day (based on double occupancy) and will also have meals included. Reduced rates for double occupancy are available.
For any participant who will be attending the meeting but not staying at Granlibakken, there is a $70 daily off-site fee (plus 20% tax and service). This fee includes all meals during the workshop starting with dinner on Sunday, May 4 through breakfast on Thursday, May 8 (excluding the Tuesday banquet) and also a facilities fee. Off-site participants should contact Granlibakken directly with any questions and for paying the off-site fee. The Granlibakken phone numbers are noted below.
For workshop participants who would like additional lodging days prior to, or after the workshop, Granlibakken offers bed and breakfast rates (lodging and a full breakfast). The rates will vary depending if the additional days fall on a weekend. The workshop lodging and meal fees do not apply to additional days, as these workshop fees were part of a special conference package that includes the meeting facilities costs.

The online reservation Web page for the Granlibakken Conference Center and Lodge is currently undergoing technical upgrades and is unavailable, so BIW08 reservations must be made by calling the lodge directly.

Please note: The hotel has "executive" or "studio" units that are slightly larger than the regular rooms that are the size of a typical hotel room. All units will cost the same to attendees, however, the larger units will be assigned on a "first come, first served" basis according to the workshop registration date, so register early!
