|Current Long-Term Operating Schedule|
Note: The ALS has scheduled an extended shutdown that begins on October 26 and runs through the end of the year. The need for the lengthy shutdown is primarily driven by two efforts, both of which are the culmination of years of work. The first is the final stage of our storage-ring radio-frequency (rf) upgrade. We will be reconfiguring all of the waveguide that connects our two klystron towers to our two rf cavities. The second is the installation of our first nonevaporable-getter-coated vacuum chamber in the storage ring, which enables the small-gap insertion device required for the COSMIC beamline currently under construction.
