In 2010, user meeting organizers created the first ALS Photo Contest. Members of Berkeley Lab's Photography Club spent a couple of hours shooting photos from around the ring, inside the accelerator, and atop the booster. The winning photos were selected by the user community during the meeting.

This year, all staff and users are invited to participate by submitting photos they have taken of people at the ALS. The theme this year is "The ALS at Work" with the focus on users, students, and staff working in and around the ALS to celebrate the broad spectrum of the people who make the ALS a success. And, there will be prizes!!

To Enter "The ALS at Work" Photo Contest

• Each photo must have a picture of one or more people involved in some form of activity at the ALS.
• Send a high resolution (8 inches@ 300 dpi) digital image to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Friday, September 17, 2011.
• Judges will review digital submissions and will select 20 photos for display.
• Selected photographers will be asked to mount and mat their photos on 11 x 14 inch matting.
• During the meeting, the photos will be on display and attendees and staff will be asked to vote on the top three pictures.
• Winners will be invited to attend the awards banquet on Tuesday, October 4, where they will receive their prize.
